Circumcision in Islam

Circumcision is a topic which has been fiercely debated from ancient times and the debate is still raging today. In modern times several world conferences have been held to debate circumcision and many papers, magazine articles and books have been published about it. This is the first comprehensive book on the topic. It clarifies the meaning of circumcision, its history, the opinion of science, medicine and religion regarding it, its effects from a psychological, social and moral perspective. It also includes part of Tuhfat al-Mawdud by Ibn-al-Qayyim al-Jawziyya which deals with circumcision.
